Health Care Apathy and Rise of Pseudo Practioners

The health care system in India is facing a crisis of apathy and trust in recent years, resulting in the rise of pseudo practitioners who exploit the vulnerability of patients seeking medical advice. This apathy is evident in the way many patients turn to unqualified individuals in medical shops for a second opinion on their prescriptions, rather than consulting qualified healthcare professionals.

It is a common sight in India to see patients seeking advice from the person behind the counter in a medical shop, rather than consulting a qualified pharmacist or doctor. These individuals, often school finalists or dropouts, are relied upon to interpret doctors' prescriptions and provide information on the prescribed medicines. This practice is not only unprofessional but also dangerous, as these pseudo practitioners may not have the necessary knowledge or expertise to provide accurate information about the medicines.

The fact that patients are willing to trust the judgment of these unqualified individuals over that of a qualified healthcare professional speaks volumes about the lack of trust in the healthcare system in India. Patients are often skeptical of doctors and hospitals, viewing them as profit-driven entities rather than caring for their well-being. This apathy towards seeking proper medical care leads to a reliance on pseudo practitioners who may not have the patient's best interests at heart.

This trend is particularly concerning given the rise of pseudo practitioners who pose as qualified doctors and offer medical advice and treatment without the necessary credentials. These individuals often operate in rural and under-served areas where access to qualified healthcare professionals is limited. Patients, desperate for medical attention, may fall prey to these pseudo practitioners who exploit their vulnerability for monetary gain.

Furthermore, the lack of awareness and concern for one's own health is evident in the way individuals interact with other potentially harmful substances. For example, individuals may not question the effects of alcohol on their health when purchasing it at a bar or liquor shop. Similarly, individuals may not inquire about the safety of consuming fruits and vegetables coated with insecticides at a supermarket. This disregard for one's health and well-being is indicative of a larger societal issue in which individuals prioritize convenience over their own health.

This trend not only puts individuals at risk of improper treatment but also undermines the importance of seeking proper medical care. In order to address this issue, there needs to be a greater emphasis on health literacy and awareness in India, as well as stricter regulations to prevent unqualified individuals from posing as medical experts.

The prevalence of pseudo practitioners in India is a reflection of the deep-rooted issues in the healthcare system, including a lack of regulation and oversight, inadequate access to primary care services, and a general mistrust of the medical profession. In order to address this crisis, there needs to be a concerted effort to educate the public about the importance of seeking healthcare from qualified professionals, as well as strict enforcement of regulations to crack down on pseudo practitioners. It is important to raise awareness about the importance of seeking proper medical advice. This can be done through education campaigns, community outreach programs, and initiatives to improve access to quality healthcare. It is also important to regulate the healthcare industry to ensure that only qualified professionals are providing medical advice and treatment.

In conclusion, the health care apathy in India and the rise of pseudo practitioners are symptomatic of a larger issue of trust and accountability in the healthcare system. It is imperative that steps are taken to restore faith in the medical profession and ensure that patients receive proper care from qualified professionals. Only then can we hope to improve the quality of healthcare and prevent the exploitation of vulnerable individuals by unscrupulous pseudo practitioners.

Masquerades of Male Gaze. Challenging The Dominant Narratives

The concept of the male gaze has been a prominent topic of discussion in feminist theory, media studies, and cultural studies for several decades. Coined by feminist film theorist Laura Mulvey in her influential 1975 essay "Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema," the male gaze refers to the way in which visual media perpetuates and reinforces a patriarchal perspective that objectifies and sexualizes women. I, the male gaze is often more complex and insidious than it may initially appear, as it can take on various forms and be disguised in a variety of ways.  Y   One particularly intriguing phenomenon related to the male gaze is the masquerade of the male gaze. This refers to instances in which the male gaze is obscured or hidden behind a facade, making it more difficult to detect and critique. For example, in media texts that appear to cater to a female audience, such as romantic comedies or reality television shows targeted at women, the male gaze may st...

Burn Hall School: Admission, Corruption or Donation

Missionary schools have long been hailed as institutions of quality education and moral values. However, in recent years, there have been growing concerns about corruption in the admission process of these schools. One of the most prevalent forms of corruption in missionary schools is the demand for hefty donations in exchange for admission. The practice of demanding donations for admission is not only unethical but also goes against the very principles these schools claim to uphold. Education is supposed to be a right for all children, regardless of their financial status. By giving preference to wealthy students who can afford to pay large sums of money, these schools are essentially denying the less fortunate children the opportunity to receive the same quality education. This not only goes against the principles of equality and fairness but also perpetuates social disparities. It creates a vicious cycle where only the privileged few have access to quality education, while the r...

The Nuclear Double Standard: Iran vs Israel

The Nuclear Double Standard: How the West Enables Israeli Exceptionalism While Vilifying Iran The International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) June 12 declaration that Iran is in "non-compliance" with nuclear obligations marks a watershed moment in Middle East geopolitics. Yet this censure—orchestrated by Western powers—exposes a grotesque hypocrisy: Iran, a Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) signatory , faces punitive measures while Israel, an undeclared nuclear power outside the NPT , operates with impunity. This duality perpetuates a dangerous narrative where the victimizer becomes the victim, and the media’s complicit bias fuels regional instability. The Legal Mirage: Treaty Obligations vs. Reality Under the NPT, Iran is legally bound to forswear nuclear weapons and submit to IAEA inspections—a burden Israel avoids by remaining a non-signatory. Iran has allowed intrusive monitoring, including 22 site investigations into pre-2003 activities at Lavisan-Shian ...
